Barreling Through Christmas by Shanna Hatfield

Series: Rodeo Romance #4
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Released: Dec. 1, 2016
303 pages
About the Book:
Surrounded by hunky cowboys, what’s a girl to do?

Advertising executive Paige Porter heads to Las Vegas for the finals rodeo with one goal in mind: Find a cowboy with the perfect…um… genes to model her client’s new western clothing line. After covertly watching hundreds of men walk by, Paige finally finds the cowboy with her ideal assets. Before she can approach him, he disappears into the crowd. She’s left with a picture of his back pockets and an annoying rodeo clown who makes her wish she’d never left home.

Cooper James lives life to the fullest, determined to make people smile with his own special brand of humor. As a rodeo clown and barrelman, he loves engaging the crowd and getting a laugh, even if it means embarrassing an uptight ad executive who’s desperately searching for the ideal model for a new brand of jeans. Intrigued by the woman, Cooper has no intention of telling her he recognizes the denim-clad backside in the photo she’s flashing all over town.

My Rating & Thoughts:    ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ 🌟 ðŸŒŸ   (5 stars)

“Something about that boorish clown made her feel more alive
than anything else she’d ever experienced.”

After reading Capturing Christmas I couldn’t wait to get to know Cooper’s story and see what type of women Ms. Hatfield had planned for him. I absolutely loved this one, I don’t know if I have ever laughed so much throughout a story. Cooper sure liked to pick on Paige, some of the antics he pulled were entertaining, but I did feel for Paige. With the embarrassment that he put her through, I could understand her anger.

Paige is a serious ad exec who needs to loosen up a bit and add some laughter to her life. She has been forced out of her comfort zone to go in search of the perfect cowboy to model her client’s new jeans. With the help of her sister she spots the perfect man, but is unable to catch up with him in time to find out who he is. So the search begins of finding the owner of the backside she got a picture of. This results in many entertaining moments.

Cooper James is a rodeo clown who is always trying to make people laugh. He meets Paige and finds joy in trying to get her to loosen up. He knows who Paige is searching for but is having fun getting to know her and doesn’t want to ruin that, so he keeps it to himself. Eventually Paige finds out and it does not go over well. He may be a jokester, but there is a sweet side to him as well. It was easy to fall in love with him.

The chemistry between these two was strong and Paige may deny her attraction, but her sister and Cooper's grandpa, Nick, are determined to meddle until they both realize how perfect they are together. Paige does loosen up over time and I enjoyed the changes in her. I completely loved these characters and the story.

“Never, in her entire life, had she been so mortified, livid, vexed . . . or exhilarated.”
